Trump Has Already Doubled Down On Former Miss Universe: ‘She Gained A Massive Amount Of Weight’

Near the end of Monday night’s presidential debate, Donald Trump’s dreams swirled down the drain after he took Hillary Clinton’s bait over his disparaging comments about women. He seemed rattled when she pointed out that he called a Miss Universe winner “Miss Piggy,” and Clinton revealed that the woman’s name is Alicia Machado. She’s now a U.S. citizen, and Clinton heavily implied that Machado would not be voting for her former boss. Trump kept asking, “Where did you find this?” He then decided to insult Rosie O’Donnell (who “deserves it”) for good measure.

The entire segment was a baffling one, especially since Trump was tapped to adopt a kinder, gentler demeanor in an effort to charm the at-home voting audience. But Trump appears to have no regrets, considering what he said on Fox and Friends this morning. Trump pointed out that Machado gained a “massive amount” of weight, so he feels justified in calling her a demeaning nickname. “I know that person,” Trump recalled. “That person was a Miss Universe person. And she was the worst we ever had, the worst, the absolute worst, she was impossible.” What did Trump have against Machado? Well, “She gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem. We had a real problem. Not only that, her attitude.”

Trump didn’t appreciate how Clinton “found the girl and talked about her like she was Mother Teresa.” Trump insisted, “[I]t wasn’t quite that way, but that’s okay. Hillary has to do what she has to do.” Well, Trump also allegedly called Machado “Miss Housekeeping” because of her Latina heritage, but Trump didn’t address that nickname. Not during this talk-show appearance, anyway, but the day is young.
