‘Star Wars’ fan’s dying wish is to see ‘The Force Awakens’

UPDATE: 11/6/2015

Daniel Fleetwood, the terminally ill man whose dying wish is to see “The Force Awakens,” got to see an early version of the film

ORIGINAL ARTICLE STARTS HERE:

Daniel Fleetwood is a huge “Star Wars” fan, so of course he's very excited about the “The Force Awakens.” But he's not sure if he'll get to see it. “Force” comes out in December, and Fleetwood might not live that long.

The 32-year-old has terminal cancer, and was given two months to live … in July.

“I really don't think that I'll be able to make it,” Fleetwood told his local news station. Since that report was filmed last week, according to NBC News, Fleetwood has discovered that his lungs are 90 percent covered in tumors.

He's hoping to get a sneak preview of the film, and his cause has gone viral, with people all over the world tweeting #ForceforDaniel, including Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and Peter Mayhew.

It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for Fleetwood's dying wish to come true; as CNN points out, 'Force” director J.J. Abrams gave a terminally ill “Star Trek” fan an early look at “Into Darkness” in 2013. On the other hand, Walt Disney Studios, which is releasing the film, didn't respond to NBC News' inquiries, nor has it contacted Fleetwood.
