TV Ratings: ‘Gotham’ slips, ‘Bachelor’ and ‘Mike & Molly’ surge on Monday

Big episode-to-episode bumps for “The Bachelor” and “Mike & Molly” helped ABC win Monday night among young viewers and CBS come out on top overall.

In addition to the CBS and ABC gains, NBC also saw a bump for “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “State of Affairs,” while FOX's “Gotham” and The CW's “Jane the Virgin” posted minor drops.

On to the numbers…

Among adults 18-49, ABC averaged a 2.1 rating for Monday night, tops in the key demographic. CBS was second in the key demo with a 1.8 rating for the night, followed closely by the 1.7 key demo ratings for both NBC and FOX. The CW averaged a 0.6 key demo rating for the night.

Overall, though, CBS averaged an estimated 9.23 million viewers and a 5.7 rating/9 share for Monday primetime, beating ABC's 8.085 million viewers and 5.3/9 for the night. NBC's 6.19 million viewers and 4.0/6 edged out FOX's 3.1/5 and 5.07 million for the night, while The CW trailed with 1.36 million and a 0.9/1.

8 p.m. – CBS started the night in first overall and second among adults 18-49 with “2 Broke Girls” (9.29 million and a 2.4 key demo) and “Mike & Molly” (9.8 million and a 2.2 key demo). ABC's “The Bachelor” was second with 8.32 million viewers and won the hour with a 2.4 key demo rating, ahead of the 6.93 million viewers and 2.0 key demo rating for NBC's “Celebrity Apprentice.” FOX's “Gotham” was fourth with 5.8 million viewers and a 1.9 key demo rating, though FOX would want me to add that “Gotham” won the hour and the night among men 18-49. The CW's “The Originals” averaged 1.465 million viewers and a 0.7 key demo rating.

9 p.m. – A repeat of “Scorpion” won the 9 p.m. hour overall with 8.46 million viewers and finished third with a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 for CBS. ABC's “The Bachelor” was a close second with 8.41 million viewers and won the hour with a 2.6 key demo rating. NBC's “Celebrity Apprentice” was third with 6.96 million viewers and second with a 2.1 key demo rating. Way back in fourth was FOX's “Sleepy Hollow” with 4.34 million viewers and a 1.4 key demo rating, in line with last week's numbers. The CW's “Jane the Virgin” slipped a bit to 1.25 million viewers and a 0.5 key demo rating.

10 p.m. – “NCIS: Los Angeles” won the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with 9.68 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. ABC's “Castle” was second with 7.52 million viewers and a 1.4 key demo rating. “State of Affairs” drew 4.69 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating on NBC.
