With the release of Albert Hammond, Jr.’s third LP Momentary Masters two months away, The Strokes guitarist has released the album’s second single. We’ve already heard “Born Slippy,” and we’ve now got “Losing Touch.” The track was first premiered over the weekend at Primavera Sound and is one of Hammond’s poppiest tracks yet, unlike his previous EP AHJ.
This new single seems to be leaving off where his previous LP, Como Te Llama?, left off, with poppy rock songs full of guitar hooks and big choruses. “Losing Touch” is full of muted guitar verses and loud jangly choruses. If it weren’t for Hammond’s singing, this could easily be mistaken for a new Strokes song, which is never a bad thing.
