We kind of know what Apple Music and its Beats 1 feature will look like when the service drops on June 30, but more details about Beats 1 and its programming were revealed on Thursday by the New York Times. A number of famous names have apparently already signed on to host shows on the 24-hour station, including Elton John, Drake, Pharrell Williams, Jaden Smith, St. Vincent, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, and Disclosure.
Beats 1 will alternate one- and two-hour programming blocks by established broadcasters (Ebro Darden and Julie Adenuga, in addition to Lowe) with those by the more famous names, who will plan the shows in addition to being the hosts.
For what it’s worth, even Lowe isn’t sure how the station will do, saying, “The whole thing could be a total, abject disaster.”
If it is, at least he got an interview with Eminem out of it?
