Ariana Grande Breaks Down A Whitney Houston Tribute On ‘Greatest Hits’

On the season finale of ABC’s popular summer series Greatest Hits — the nostalgic weekly show featuring live performances of biggest songs from the ’80s, ’90s and early aughts — Ariana Grande wowed the audience with her dazzling medley tribute to the late Whitney Houston, one of her greatest role models. Before the performance, Grande posted a teaser on her Instagram account, declaring that that she was “honored to be paying homage to my angel tonight.” She then proceeded to belt out Houston’s “How Will I Know,” and “Queen of the Night” from The Bodyguard soundtrack in a tribute that we think would have impressed the late diva.

All summer long, the show hosted new and veteran acts performing classic hits, with last night’s finale also featuring Celine Dion and Adam Lambert, among others. Ariana Grande, it’s worth pointing out, has had a banner year, releasing her album Dangerous Woman in May – plus she has already followed up with a few new tracks this summer on her SoundCloud account.

It’s also not the first time the 23-year-old has shown off her cover skills. Earlier this year while hosting SNL, the star appeared in a sketch where she nailed impressions of Britney Spears, Shakira, Celine Dion, and of course, the aforementioned Houston.
