The Guns N’ Roses reunion tour is off to a rough start. And no, it has nothing to do with frontman Axl Rose not showing up for a gig or arriving late or finding new ways to sabotage one of his shows. This time, Rose just caught a rough break. Literally.
Fresh off a surprise show in Los Angeles, Rose was in Las Vegas with the band, warming up for their much-hyped reunion tour. At some point, he reportedly broke a bone in his foot and, according to a video that Rose tweeted out, he will require surgery to put a plate and screws into his busted wheel. Rose’s surgeon, Dr. Rachel Triche said that the singer is unable to put much weight on his foot. A new stage is being designed so that Rose can still perform, with the operative word being “still.” Dr. Triche said that Rose is likely to be in a cast for at least four weeks, which would mean he’ll be stationary for the band’s Coachella’s performances.
The band’s show Friday night in Las Vegas will go on as planned, possibly with Rose calling up Dave Grohl to see if Grohl’s custom throne he used last summer was available.
We will keep you posted as more details on this emerge.
