In a world where socialites moonlight as high fashion models, every A-list singer is also an actor, and even former reality stars can be serious contenders for POTUS, it shouldn’t be so surprising that Lewis Hamilton has music on the agenda.
The 31-year-old Formula One racing ace has previously been cited for his musical inclinations, but according to Drake‘s latest Instagram post, it seems these dreams are finally coming to fruition.
In a post to his 29.1 million followers, Drake published a solo photo of the British driving champ with a caption reading, “@lewishamilton Roots x OVO collab.”

Subsequently, Hamilton took to his own social media to post a pic of himself in the 29-year-old rapper’s hometown, writing, “Hot up in the 6 right now…”

Though this may seem like a random duo, Drake and Hamilton have actually been friends for quite some town with the Views artist even referring to his pal as his “brother” back in 2015.

Later that year after a very public breakup with singer Nicole Scherzinger and winning GQ’s Sportsman of the Year, Hamilton admitted, “A collaboration with Drake is on the cards… We will release something at some point but I’m just recording for fun at the moment.”
With confidence evidently beyond just on the race track, Hamilton has said in the past, “I’ve heard a lot of bad songs in the charts recently and I have stuff that we and other people say is better… I’ve probably made about 25 to 30 songs.”
Whether Hamilton turns out to be an undercover superstar just as Aubrey Graham was or not, at least this means we have some new OVO music to look forward to.
