There’s certainly been some drama between Wavves frontman, Nathan Williams, and his label, Warner Bros. Records, over his upcoming album V. Williams complained on Twitter about the conditions at the label and how they were holding back V‘s release. Well, that’s now all in the past: The album is coming out October 2 on Williams’ Ghost Ramp Records and Warner Bros. Records.
We’ve already heard one track from V, “Way Too Much,” and we’re getting our second taste with “Flamezesz.” That’s not a typo, that’s the actual title. In typical Wavves fashion, the brief track is quick and catchy surf-punk with the perfect combo of synths and loud distorted guitars. It’s been a busy year for Williams, who just put out a surprise album with Cloud Nothings.
