Matt Damon is one of the biggest movie stars in the world. He is returning to the role that made him an action star in Jason Bourne, his fourth movie in the Bourne franchise. Despite all this, though, even the elite of the elite in Hollywood can get a little tongue tied. And that’s exactly what happened when Damon met the late, great Prince.
Damon had a particularly awkward meeting with Prince a little while back, according to a new piece from GQ.
Julia Stiles (co-star, ‘Bourne’ films): After The Bourne Ultimatum came out, there was a premiere in London. Prince actually came to it, then got tickets for the cast to come see him [perform]. We were summoned into a room to meet him [after the show]. Matt said, “So you live in Minnesota? I hear you live in Minnesota.”
Damon: Prince said, “I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon.”
Oh, Matt Damon. Asking Prince if he lives in Minnesota is like asking him if he likes the color purple. It’s an established fact. Of course, Damon was able to bounce back from his awkward Prince encounter, and now we have another great anecdote about the awesomeness of Prince.
