Pup’s latest thrashing punk effort The Dream Is Over got them nominated for a Polaris Prize earlier this year, and now they’ve released a brand new video for the track “Sleep In The Heat” via Vulture. The video features 13-year-old Finn Wolfhard, who made it big over the summer for his role as Mike Wheeler in the smash hit Netflix series Stranger Things and lyrically seems like a platonic love song, but is actually frontman Stefan Babcock singing about his beloved late pet chameleon.
A musician himself, Wolfhard has worked with PUP in the past, starring as a young Babcock in the “Guilt Trip” video off the band’s 2013 self-titled LP, though he would not meet the members of the band until a year after shooting wrapped on the video. Wolfhard also appeared in a promotional video for the band’s Polaris Prize nomination, citing his favorite tracks from The Dream Is Over and praising the record for for being “a total group effort.” He also, of course, plays Dungeons & Dragons with the band members, acting as the Dungeonmaster and having the band suffer a variety of Grimes-related deaths.
