When new tracks featuring Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan surfaced six days ago, many wondered if the two were collaborating again. However, Quan has recently made statements that may deflate their hopes of a potential Rich Gang reunion.
In an interview with Miami’s 99 Jamz, the “Flex” rapper explained away the tracks’ sudden appearance, stating, “They’re old… I remember them getting leaked about two or three years ago.” Unfortunately, he says, “We ain’t did music in a long time.”
While he reiterates that the two have no beef, at present they are not on speaking terms. “We don’t got no bad blood, but we don’t talk,” he explained, “I wish him the best.”
The tracks in question were posted by Young Thug on his Instagram late last Thursday night, suggesting to fans that the duo formerly known as Rich Gang was back to making music together after a mysterious split nearly three years ago that neither seems eager to demystify for fans. The snippet featured a previously unheard recording of characteristic crooning from Quan prefacing a verse from Thug.
The track will apparently be appearing on Young Thug’s upcoming album E.B.B.T.G. (Easy Breezy Beautiful Thugger Girls), which he promises will feature 100% sung lyrics.
