Neither of them were slated to perform at Coachella this weekend, but that didn’t stop Selena Gomez and her new boyfriend who you might have heard of — The Weeknd — from showing up to the fest to be seen together. While they were wandering through the Polo Grounds and publicly canoodling, Abel also found time to show up at fellow Toronto artist Nav’s set and perform a bit from one of their collabs, “Some Way.”

Selena and Abel have been teasing a relationship for a minute now, arguably beginning with The Weeknd’s lyric “ass shaped like Selena” on “Coming On Strong” — and the corresponding display of said ass in a photo shoot that followed soon after. Then, there was the TMZ video that caught the two of them kissing, and fans’ subsequent reactions, and finally, Selena wearing Abel’s sweatshirt, a clear indication of coupledom or something like it.
But what should’ve really tipped us off that something was going on was when Justin Bieber said The Weeknd’s music sucked. Because of his past with Selena, and a relationship that has been so on and off, it’s not a shocker that he isn’t thrilled about their newfound romance.
