Cecil Otter and Swiss Andy of Minneapolis mashed together the lyrical genius of Wu-Tang Clan with the post-hardcore punk of Fugazi to make “Wugazi”. Their 13-track mashup released last month, 13 Chambers, can still be downloaded for free at the official site, and there’s a good breakdown of each track at RollingStone. (Sidenote: “Cecil Otter and Swiss Andy of Minneapolis” is possibly the most whitebred-sounding opening I’ve ever written while talking about Wu-Tang, and I’m always talking about Wu-Tang. W.R.E.A.M.)
To sweeten this combo even more, YouTuber millistair has set the mashup of Fugazi’s “Blueprint” and Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Brooklyn Zoo” to scenes of Omar from The Wire. The video that follows is brilliant and very, very NSFW due to swearing (including get-you-fired racial epithets) as well as a metric f–kton of violence. That is the technical term for this amount of violence, a “metric f–kton”. It goes buttload then ass-carriage then badonka-barrel and then you get into metric.
