The Weeknd Is Still Singing About Drugs On His New Single ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’

Fresh off the success of “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades of Gray soundtrack, The Weeknd has dropped yet another soon-to-be-chart-topping single, “I Can’t Feel My Face.”

Clearly, The Weeknd wanted to get a piece of the increasingly popular old-school funk and dance craze, a movement popularized by a few recent Pharrell Williams hits. Swedish producer Max Martin was behind this upbeat instrumental.

The “I Can’t Feel My Face” title has a clever double meaning. In addition to describing his sensation of being in love, The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, is also referring to drug use. Just see the line “I know she’ll be the death of me.”

The Weeknd hasn’t dropped an album since 2013’s Kiss Land, so it would be logical to assume this new single is a sign of a new project dropping in the near future.
