Talent shows for kids can be a nerve-racking experience for those involved. With all those eyes watching, some tykes tend to wilt under the pressure. This was certainly not the case for 11-year-old Mykel Lewis, who blew the crowd away with his excellent rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
The fifth grade student at University Heights Intermediate in Jonesboro, Arkansas originally auditioned for the talent show using a different song. Much to the delight of everyone in attendance, the little prodigy belted out the notes to the famous Houston song instead. Mykel’s performance was so impressive, in fact, that a construction crew working inside the building stopped to cheer for him.
Mykel has a dream of performing on America’s Got Talent and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. There is no doubt we will see him on both very soon.
