Rivers Cuomo put in a pretty serious claim for the title of “world’s coolest dad” over the weekend, when Weezer performed at Montreal’s Osheaga Music Festival. When it came time to perform the Make Believe single “Perfect Situation,” the group had a special guest join them up onstage: Rivers’ 8-year-old daughter, Mia, who came up to assist and play keyboard on the song. It really became a family affair when Rivers brought up his 3-year-old son Leo to to shred on an inflatable guitar during “Back to the Shack.”
Sure, Taylor Swift brought out every A-list celebrity you could imagine on her tour, but Cuomo performing with his kids easily tops Swift’s guests. Still, it falls just short of James Hetfield performing Adele with his daughter. That performance is the current high water mark for rock star parent-child duets.
