Dr. Oz’s ‘Pointed Questions’ To Donald Trump Won’t Include Anything He Doesn’t Want To Answer

If you hoping for any election-shattering news come Thursday when Donald Trump appears on The Dr. Oz Show, don’t hold your breath. (His medical qualifications to the contrary, Oz wouldn’t recommend this.) That’s because, as Mehmet Oz told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on his radio show, he won’t be asking the Republican nominee any hard-hitting questions. Nor will the daytime talk show host be digging into anything other than Trump’s health during the interview.

According to Politico, Oz revealed he would be reviewing Trump’s health records then discuss them with the presidential candidate in person. “I want to ask him pointed questions about his health,” said Oz, who added “won’t release them” or parts of them if they contain what Kilmeade called “embarrassing things.” After all, Oz continued, releasing the records is “his decision” and the interview won’t be an opportunity to get Trump:

“The metaphor for me is it’s the doctor’s office, the studio. So I’m not going to ask him questions he doesn’t want to have answered, and I also don’t want to talk about anybody else. We’re not going to be talking about Secretary Clinton, for sure,” Oz said. “And I don’t want to talk about things that are outside of the health purview. But I do not believe we can have a wealthy country without being a healthy country. And so I do think people want to understand, what happens to my health care if Mr. Trump is elected, and more importantly, what kind of role model is he for health in our country.”

Kilmeade also asked Oz about the letter Trump’s personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, allegedly wrote in five minutes while a limo waited outside his office. The talk show host admitted that such a letter is “a little out of the ordinary,” but promised to “make some sense out of that, the letter.”

Unfortunately, Vice President Joe Biden’s jogging challenge didn’t come up in Kilmeade and Oz’s conversation. Hopefully the good doctor will bring it up when Trump shows up on his sound stage. After all, it’s technically about health.
