UFC On FOX 21 Results: Maia Dominates Condit, Pettis Looks Strong At Featherweight

UFC on FOX 21 gave Vancouver one hell of a show. We saw a thrilling rematch between Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon, witnessed Paige VanZant launch her rising star further into the sky, and Anthony Pettis declare featherweight as his new home. We also saw the welterweight division get a clearer picture on who is running the top of 170.

—Paige VanZant def. Bec Rawlings via TKO (round 2). A flying switch kick that turned to a sweet TKO? Yes, please. Check out PVZ’s win here.

—Jim Miller def. Joe Lauzon via split-decision. Lauzon and Miller once again put on a great fight for the MMA world, but in this instance, it was clear that Lauzon may have been on the end of a bad decision. There was a time when MMA judges absolutely favored control time and takedowns, but it seems like those days are gone. No trilogy.

Prelims

—Sam Alvey def. Kevin Casey via TKO (round 2). Smilin’ Sam is becoming more and more of a star with his improved mic skills and hilarious anecdotes after the bell. It doesn’t hurt that he has some of the heaviest hands in the business.

—Kyle Bochniak def. Enrique Barzola via split decision.

—Alessio Di Chirico def. Garreth McLellan via split-decision.

—Felipe Silva def. Shane Campbell via KO (round 1). Hey, nice debut.
