I GOT SOMETHING TO SAY: Danzig is on Thursday’s episode of Portlandia.
The kitty-litter icon plays a Romanian fashion expert, obviously, who’s trying to add some color to Fred Armisen’s goth wardrobe. “The beach: it has its own expression, its own style,” he says, “I have been collecting all these years. Let me share with you what I have found.” Danzig’s discoveries include Pac-Sun and Billabong attire (he didn’t have enough to visit Hollister in the mall), because “sometimes to have a good time, you have to dress a little lame.”
That almost explains why he’s shirtless much of the time. Almost.
Last year, Danzig wrote on Facebook, “Fred & Carrie are Fantastic… I had a Blast!, Thanks to them & their whole team… Another reason, along with Voodoo Donuts & Powells Bookstore that I dig Portland, GD.” I’m 74 percent sure Danzig thinks his name is a state, as in Portland, Glenn Danzig, instead of Portland, Oregon. It’s a magical place where every meal is french-onion soup and concert photographers are sentenced to death.
I want to go to there.
