Aled Lewis Celebrates The Best Pop Culture Rivalries With His ‘Such Pixels’ Art Show

Macklin. You Son of a B*tch. inspired by Parks and Recreation

We’ve featured the work of Aled Lewis before, particularly his pixel art, his staged toy photographs, and his Video Games vs. Real Life series. Now he’s hosting his own solo show at Gallery 1988 with plenty of pop culture pixel art to enjoy. The show opened at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles last Friday and runs until March 1st, 2014.

A few of our favorites are below, like Joffrey getting slapped and some other classic rivalries. Most of these are still for sale at the links underneath each photo, and everything from Aled Lewis’ “Such Pixels” show can be viewed at Gallery 1988. Thanks to Surley Badger for the tip.

The Coruscant Tapestry inspired by all Star Wars movies (of which there are three, not six lalala I can’t hear you). It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but this is a hand-stitched, 30-foot-long tapestry depicting the entire Star Wars saga with quotes from the movies written in Aurebesh around the borders.

Don’t Be Frightened inspired by the time Nic Cage dressed up as a bear and cold-clocked some woman. Did this happen in The Wicker Man, or was it a reenactment of true life events? You decide:
