Charlotte Plans To Bring Back Purple And Teal Team Colors For The Hornets

First Converse brings back the Aero Jams and now Charlotte’s matching the effort by bringing back the team’s original colors. The current Bobcats had already settled in going back to their Hornets name after the league approved the name change back in July. Over the weekend, it was announced they’ll also revert to the familiar teal and purple color scheme to complete the transformation.

Via a press release, Michael Jordan shared the decision with fans.

“It was important to us to acknowledge the heritage of the Charlotte Hornets when bringing the name back to the market,” said Bobcats Sports & Entertainment Chairman Michael Jordan. “The purple and teal color scheme was instantly recognizable as being associated with the original Hornets and we felt it was only appropriate to utilize the colors once again with this historic brand.”

The team’s already put up a splash page with the colors and we can expect to see the them on the court in the 2014-15 season.
