Emmett Till’s Family Not Buying Lil Wayne’s Apology Any More Than You Were

No sooner than Lil Wayne and his publicity team could issue their apology, reps for Emmett Till’s family rejected it on the spot. Per TMZ, Airickca Gordon-Taylor, a Till family representative, feels that Wayne’s words fall “short of an apology.”

“While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to ‘not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,’ this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned.”

No word from Weezy or Mountain Dew yet. April’s definitely been a discouraging month for the drink company and their relationships with rappers as an online ad campaign directed by Tyler, The Creator has come under fire after being deemed as racist and inappropriate.
