Guerra de las Galaxias: The Art of John Karpinsky

I wish there was more foreign language science fiction. The French, German and Japanese Sci-Fi that I’ve seen and read always has the benefit of seeming a little bit more otherworldly as a result of the culture and language barriers. This is why John Karpinsky’s Dia de los Muertos take on Stars Wars is so refreshing. Looking at these images, I can’t help but imagine a Star Wars film with a completely different look and feel. Someone needs to call Alfonso Cuarón and tell him to stop making films set in England. It’s time for the great Mexican science fiction epic!

Check out Karpinsky’s Guerra de las Galaxias series in the slideshow. If you like what you see, prints are available at his Etsy store.
