When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Are you in touch with yourself, or do you wonder who you are? You know, on the inside. Is your soul floating through the vast nether of consciousness without a paddle? Luckily, the human condition can now be quantified by watching a man struggle to take out the garbage on an icy street. This video will act as a moral barometer.
If you must go down this rabbit hole, be prepared to ask yourself questions like: how long was the Ice Walker struggling with his lone Hefty™ bag until the cameraman decided to start recording? How long was he out there for? Why was he so desperate to make it to the dumpster? You laugh. But then you don’t.
The man represents the indomitable spirit inside of us all. When given a stinky sack of trash, he must rise up and rid himself of the burden, lest it spread and leak gross juice from the bottom and onto the carpet.
Ice be damned – a trip to the dumpster must happen! And that’s what we, the viewer must realize. This man would not settle for a weird smell in his home, or God forbid, share the hardship with his neighbors by putting the bag in the communal hallway. That is the easy way out. The wrong way out.
But it’s still really funny watching him slide around. The existential struggle is real.
