Being a private detective must be at least a little bit exciting. Sure, there’s lots of sitting in bushes and taking pictures of people having an affair at the Super 8, but there are also those times that private dicks get to really solve a mystery and uncover some deep and painful truths. Take this unnamed investigator for example—he found his customer’s wife in his own home! (Well, figuratively.)
Yahoo UK reports that the detective, who operated in Taylorsville, Utah, was hired by a suspicious husband who thought his wife, 33-year-old Amber Telford (a former cheerleader for the Utah Jazz), might be cheating on him. The detective was hot on her trail when he discovered something shocking. According to Yahoo, Telford was allegedly having sex with the detective’s own 17-year-old son, and she’d been doing it for quite a while.
Telford and the unnamed teen began a sexual relationship after the pair grew close while Telford taught him at Colette’s Dancing School in Taylorsville, Utah.
They began flirting and Telford paid for him to travel to Disneyland for a dance competition and bought new clothes for him.
The private detective discovered them under a blanket with their clothes “strewn all over the floor”.
Yeah, so that’s horrible. But what’s even more horrible (and probably a huge surprise) is that the private eye didn’t suspect anything before he was hired to trace Telford. Was he in denial or just really, really bad at his job?
Telford has pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor and will spend 30 days in jail. She’ll also have to perform 150 hours of community service and add herself to the sex offender registry. She and her husband have divorced. No word on how the private detective or his son are doing. But at least justice was served?
