You’ll Never Guess What Happened When A Bank Accidentally Deposited $31,000 Into A Teenager’s Account

Earlier this month a man went into a First Citizens bank near Athens, Georgia to deposit $31,000 — however due to an oversight, the money was accidentally deposited into the account of an 18-year-old with the same name. So naturally, the responsible young man immediately notified the bank of their error, returning all of the misplaced funds.

HAHA JK, he spent that sh*t like it was Brewster’s Millions. By the time the bank realized its mistake, the kid had already gone through twenty-five grand in ten days. From the Athens Banner-Herald:

The suspect came back into the Hull branch on March 18 wanting to withdraw more money, but a teller informed him of the mistake and asked him to return the money, deputies said. The teen then insisted the money was from an inheritance.

A deputy went to the teen’s house, where the teen again said he thought the money came from his grandmother’s estate.

The deputy told the teen the bank wants the money back as soon as possible, so the teen told the officer he would go to the bank and try to settle the matter without going to jail, according to the report.

And I’m sure the teenage kid was IN NO WAY making jerking off motions when he claimed he was going to do his best to settle up with the bank and return the money. What are your thoughts on the matter, sarcastic Jennifer Lawrence GIF?

Sarcastic Jennifer Lawrence GIF agrees with me.
