The 2016 MET Gala took place on Monday, and the event took over social media, of course. At one point, millions of tweets were being sent under the event’s official hashtag while a few guests became trending topics themselves due to their daring fashions. Looking at you, Madonna! However, none grabbed the spotlight quite like Beyonce.
After last year’s barely-there sheer dress and high ponytail caught everyone’s attention, the superstar turned heads yet again with a nude-colored, custom-made Givenchy latex dress embroidered with hundreds of pearls that reportedly go for $8,000 each. Unfortunately, Beyonce’s risque “condom couture” gown should’ve come with a trigger warning for some. A few fans compared the Givenchy number to everything from Becky’s skin (confetti teeth and all) to “rough endoplasmic reticulum with ribosomes attached to it.” Don’t you just love when AP biology and fashion meet?

While the dress was a miss for some, others thought Beyonce slayed her look, as usual. “I actually love Bey’s dress the more I see it and she wears it well,” approved one fan.
