Derrick Rose Goes Hunting For Bucks; The Lakers Get Embarrassed

By 03.08.12

At one point early in the third quarter of their 106-101 loss in Washington, the Lakers were up by 20. But by then end of the quarter, it was a two-point game, and a minute and a half later, Washington was up four. The Lakers succeeded in turning the Wizards into a solid, coherent team that knows what they’re doing. Did we mention the Lakers SUCK on the road? That third quarter last night was almost as pathetic as Carl Lewis‘ shot at the National Anthem. Nick Young (19 points) scored 11 points in about five minutes to key a 30-8 Wizards run. He was talking a little junk, running his mouth. With the Lakers in front of him, he probably thought he was back in the Drew League … Down the stretch with the Wizards up one, they had an exchange of possessions that defined their team. John Wall and Jordan Crawford took back-to-back “I haven’t gotten a touch so I’m gonna throw it up” shots, and then they gave Derek Fisher a WIDE OPEN triple. Too bad Fisher’s shooting threes as if he’s Chuck Hayes. He missed, and from there, it was all Washington … The Celtics were destroyed in Philly 103-71 because they let the fifth member of the Backstreet Boys, Evan Turner, blow up for 26 points and nine rebounds. People keeping wondering why the Celtics are shopping Rajon Rondo? It’s because of nights like these (five points, eight assists) when he can’t quit playing games with their hearts … Utah stopped the Charlotte freight train’s winning streak at one, 99-93. Al Jefferson went to work for 31 points … DeMar DeRozan continued his strong run with 23 more points in Toronto’s 18-point win against Houston. The Rockets spent the first two months of the season convincing everyone they were for real. They’ve now lost five in a row … Trailing by one to the Hornets with less than 10 seconds left, Isaiah Thomas came up with an incredible steal before finding John Salmons for the miraculous game-winning bucket for the Kings … And Memphis rolled the Warriors by 18 behind Rudy Gay‘s 26 points and 12 rebounds … We’re out like the Blazers.
