Blake Griffin’s Gravity-Defying Putback Jam

Blake Griffin again put on an aerial display in the late game last night. He also dropped 30 points on a so-so (for him) 13-for-28 from the field, making it his 23rd straight game with at least 20 points — a career high. He added 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a putback slam that had our heart rate well over 150 BPMs. Watch as he throws it down one-handed while the Dubs look equal parts helpless and impressed.

One thing we’ve noticed with in-game Blake jams is he appears to almost preen after he lands. Like he knows exactly where the cameras are and exactly what sort of wry expression he should be rocking, or a countenance that seems to give a casual, ‘oh hey, just Blake here, doing my dunk thing.’

Or maybe we’ve just seen too many of his Kia Optima commercials with Jack Brayer.

Blake might be the non-Bron, non-KD MVP this season, especially if the Clippers finish within the top two spots in the West.
