Anthony Davis Leaves Game Versus Heat After Re-Injuring Fragile Right Shoulder

Anthony Davis didn’t look himself in the New Orleans Pelicans’ loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday. Less than 24 hours later, we’ve unfortunately been afforded reason for his struggles.

After taking hard contact from Hassan Whiteside while attempting a short jumper in the first quarter against the Miami Heat tonight, Davis left the game with an injury to his apparently fragile right shoulder.

Here’s video of the play. Note how Davis leads into the chest of the seven-footer with his recently injured shoulder:

Ouch.

Davis immediately trudged to the sideline in obvious pain and headed to the locker room after a few seconds on the bench. He won’t return to the game and has already undergone testing in the locker room.

The 21 year-old superstar sustained the original injury in a February 7 loss the Chicago Bulls. He missed New Orleans’ next two games leading up to the All-Star break before returning to basketball activities earlier this week. Davis scored just 13 points on 15 shots last night versus Orlando.

We’ll keep you updated on The Brow’s status as information becomes available.
