Rather than kick it wth the Inside the NBA crew in Atlanta on Thursday night, Charles Barkley joined Chris Webber and Kevin Harlan to call the Spurs-Cavs OT thriller.
While the night belonged to Kyrie Irving, Barkley’s presence on the mic certainly enlivened what’s normally just a series of enthusiastic bromides by Webber. Except, the Round Mound of Rebound struggles sometimes pronouncing names, specifically backup Cavs point guard Matthew Dellavedova.
For the record, his surname is spelled phonetically, so just sound it out Chuck.
Della (like Della Reese) – ve (vuh) – dova (like Villanova but with a D). Dellavedova!
Don’t worry though, Chuck, you’re not the only one who struggles to get it right.
