So much for nerves.
This deep, buzzer-beating three-pointer over Evan Turner to end the first half of Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics capped a brilliant postseason beginning for Kyrie Irving. In the first playoff action of his four year career, Irving scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting overall and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.
The 23 year-old seemed awfully excited for basketball’s spring stage back in late October:
And given his stellar play in the opening half, it’s safe to say Irving feels plenty comfortable in the postseason spotlight.
Cleveland leads Boston 62-54 following a wildly entertaining 24 minutes. LeBron James has 13 points, five assists, and two steals for the Cavaliers, while a combined 22 points between Isaiah Thomas and Kelly Olynyk are pacing the Celtics.
