Watch A Young Baller Shatter A Backboard Before He Starts 10th Grade

Drew Tuazama is quite possibly too strong. He’s not even in the 10th grade, and he broke a damn backboard on a putback slam, in footage captured by Ballislife.

Luckily, backboard technology has seemingly advanced to the point where a grown-man play like this doesn’t result in a shower of broken glass. Plus, the lack of any serious damage to the player or the court allows his coaches to react in appropriate fashion, which is to say, super pumped.

Tuazama is part of the recruiting class of 2018, and he pulled off this ridiculousness at the Adidas Summer Championships for Team Wall’s 16-and-under squad (according to BiL). He’s out of the Raleigh area of North Carolina, and he’s 6-foot-6 with plenty of time to grow; remember, he’s not even a sophomore in high school yet, which is what makes that overreaction by the coaches totally appropriate.

The next time you’ll be hearing from Tuazama — unless he plans on destroying any more court property — will probably be when UNC or Duke are gunning for his commitment. You know, unless he becomes good enough for John Calipari to recruit him at Kentucky.
