There aren’t any basketball players on the planet who combine the strength, athleticism, skill and drive of LeBron James. The Cavs’ do-everything position-less basketball Gawd is a glowering 6-foot-8, 250-pound menace on the NBA hardwood, and never is this more apparent than when an opponent is dashing down the court for a seemingly simple finish on the other end.
James’ ability to traverse the 94 feet in a few elongated strides, combined with his leaping ability and hand-eye coordination, turn opposing breakaways into paranoid delusions of grandeur.
Just look at what he did to Derrick Rose back in the day.
James reminded Rose of the event again in this past spring’s Eastern Conference Semifinal.
But the mix above that was dropped on YouTube last month also includes James’ block-from-behind brilliance in international competition and when those blocks were whistled for a goal tend. Was this a goal tend?
Upon review, it doesn’t look like it.
Then there are those playoff moments when LeBron hustled back even in losing performances. Like this block against the Spurs in Miami’s 2014 Finals loss:
