See Damian Lillard’s Series-Clinching Game-Winner Vs. The Rockets From A New Angle

Remember last month when a new, never-before-seen angle of “The Shot” by Michael Jordan was uncovered? No? Well, here it is again because it’s totally worth your time. And now we have a new angle of Damian Lillard’s game-winning shot against the Houston Rockets from Game 6 of the 2014 Western Conference Quarterfinals. The original shot is great, if for no other reason than to see the whole angle and hear Mike Tirico’s frantic call as Lillard ends Houston’s season right before the buzzer sounds. You can see all of that in the video above.

However, it’s also cool to see Lillard’s game-winning, series-clinching shot from basically the court-side view. It gives you some perspective on how difficult the turn-and-shoot angle was for him. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with audio of the crowd in the Moda Center losing their freaking minds. Here’s Lillard’s game-winning shot in the new angle below:

(As an added bonus, the Oregonian compiled a list of audio tracks for the shot, featuring both the Portland and Houston calls.)

Portland would go on to lose to the Spurs in the Conference Semifinals. Still, Lillard was already a Rookie of the Year recipient (2013) and would eventually become a two-time NBA All-Star. The shot wasn’t the moment that cemented him as a bona fide star in the NBA, but it certainly added to the lore.
