Watch France’s Rudy Gobert Posterize An Unsuspecting Latvian Defender

The 2015 EuroBasket quarterfinals were in full effect today as both Spain and France advanced to play each other in the semifinal round Thursday for a shot at securing an Olympic bid in Rio next summer. Tuesday’s action wasn’t without its fanfare, as Nikola Mirotic dunked all over Greek wunderkind Giannis Antetokounmpo in the earlier matchup.

Not to be outdone, France’s Rudy Gobert, aka The Stifle Tower, had a huge poster jam of his own over an unsuspecting Latvian defender in the late game. Midway through the third period, Tony Parker came up with a steal, bolted down court with that trademark speed of his, then threw a perfect lob pass to Gobert, who slammed it home with authority over the lone Latvian defender who was unlucky enough to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

And that wasn’t even the best part. That distinction belongs to the rando super fan with the epic wig/beard combo who completely lost it after that play. France went onto win 84-70 behind Parker’s 18 points and six assists. The French also got major contributions from team captain Boris Diaw, who chipped in 14 points and three rebounds, and Gobert, who in addition to the biggest highlight of the day, added 13 points and six rebounds.
