Nipple Shirts Are Part Of Russell Westbrook’s Fantastic New Clothing Line

We’ve read somewhere that four-time Second Team All-NBA point guard Russell Westbrook is a fashion iconoclast. We would have no idea, being that we’re the least fashionable people you’ve ever read. But Russ is in New York for Fashion Week. He’s been here before, where he can rub elbows with Vogue E-I-C Anna Wintour and participate in other Fashion Week festivities. (We’ve lived in NYC for nine years, and usually they just ask us to wait outside the Island of Manhattan until Fashion Week is over.)

Russ had a packed schedule this week, but he did find time to tweet out some of the clothing he’s dropping at Barneys. Most of it’s pretty cool, though we don’t really get the leggings/short combo as casual wear (again, we’re fashion greenhorns).

But it’s the see-through mesh shirts that really caught our attention because, usually, shirts cover the nipples, and these do not.

There’s nothing wrong with a see-through shirt that shows off a mans nipples. (Why else do men even have nipples except to show them off in a Russell Westbrook-designed shirt?) Russ is a fan of the #WhyNot hashtag, and it’s an overall life mantra for him.

“Russ, you can see their nipples through the shirt,” we imagine his co-collaborators telling him.

“Why not?” he replies.

Why not, indeed. What are you, some sort of anti-areola puritan? We didn’t think so. Gonna order a few of these as Christmas gifts.
