Watch As Stephen A. Smith Threatens Kevin Durant: ‘You Don’t Want To Make An Enemy Out Of Me’

Hook, line and sinker.

Kevin Durant fell into Stephen A. Smith’s trap and boy is he going to regret it. Last Tuesday, Smith reported that Durant could be headed to the Lakers and that they were his “first choice” if he didn’t re-sign with the Thunder. That led to Durant going on the offensive and calling Smith a liar.

Durant: “I don’t talk to Stephen A Smith at all. Nobody in my family, my friends, they don’t talk to Stephen A Smith. So he’s lying.”

On Monday morning’s episode of First Take, Smith spent the better part of 15 minutes verbally assassinating the NBA superstar, going as far as saying, “you don’t want to make an enemy out of me.”

Some might see that as a warning. Others would say it was an outright threat to Durant’s career.

Smith backed up his talk by pointing out his resume, “20-plus years of breaking stories in the NBA.” Adding that he could get more out of “10 minutes at the NBA arena” than he could with “50 phone calls.”

How this rant made it on TV is beyond comprehension. It was as if Smith was cutting a WWE promo, staring into the camera and issuing ultimatums.

Among them:

“Kevin Durant is lying.”

“We really wanna go here? We really wanna start something with me?”

“He’s a good guy but he’s wrong about this.”

This was well beyond normal First Take trolling. This was a personal beef that went way, way too far.
