Damian Lillard is saying all the right things about missing out on the All-Star Game this season. It certainly bears mentioning that Kyle Lowry plays in the Eastern Conference, too; he wasn’t one of the players selected over the Portland Trail Blazers superstar.
Even so, it’s hard not to believe that this aggressive swat by Lillard meant just a little more than usual because it came on a floor general who’s actually headed to Toronto next weekend. Perhaps making it even better? Lowry was voted into the All-Star Game by the fans.
Might Lillard ever garner that same kind of support? We’re not sure, but making highlight-reel defensive plays like this one on a nightly basis would certainly help his case.
