Donald Trump Played Himself By Saying America Should Be Run Like The Spurs

At a campaign stop in San Antonio on Tuesday, Trump tried his hand at some local pandering by appealing to Spurs fans. And just like in Pittsburgh, he did an awful job at it:

You have to give it to Trump on this one — he’s completely right. Wouldn’t it be nice if the United States government was an open, collaborative system where everyone, no matter their race or country of origin, is respected for what they can bring to the table? Wouldn’t it be nice if every member of that government was encouraged to think for themselves rather than subscribe to a rigid ideology?

Like Popovich, Donald is also super protective of his team. You know the GOP presidential nominee wouldn’t ever ironically scream “MVP” when Boban Marjanovic was playing good minutes during a blowout. And you know, just know, the specious author of The Art of the Deal would encourage Marjanovic to get paid.

It would be nice, and it also is antithetical to Trump’s entire campaign. Donald, in the words of DJ Khaled, you played yourself. This joke was made a bunch of times on Twitter as the most concise takedown of Trump:

Although now that Trump is apparently free from his GOP “shackles,” perhaps this is part of a whole new platform he will be presenting over the next month.
