Draymond Green Says The Blazers Are ‘Done,’ Because Of Course They Are

The Portland Trail Blazers squandered a 16-point lead on their way to a 132-125 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of their second-round series Monday night. Steph Curry returned from injury to drop 40 on the Blazers — including 17 in overtime — and place them in a 3-1 series hole.

The Blazers are done. We all know this.

You know who else knows this? Draymond Green.

What makes the Blazers being done so special is Green actually said it instead of giving platitudes about “the fourth game being the hardest to win” and “we respect that team over there.” Green thinks Portland is done and said so after Game 4.

From ESPN:

“Do I think they’re done? Of course I think they’re done. If I don’t think they’re done, I don’t know who else is going to think it. We’re going home with a 3-1 lead. It’s up to us to close it out. And I trust my teammates, I trust our team to come out ready to go and close this series out. Of course I think they’re done. It’s time for us to close the series. We did what we needed to do; we came on the road and got one win. We took care of home court. Now it’s time for us to do it again.”

The Warriors haven’t lost two-straight all season, so they’ve earned the right to be positive they’re not going to lose three-straight to a team that went 1-2 against them in this series without Curry.

It will be fun to see if this gets spun into Green stupidly giving the Blazers bulletin board material. Oh no, bulletin board material. The Blazers can post that quote on their bulletin board, but it would have the same effect as the Earth posting a quote about how the sun is going to rise tomorrow.

Good luck stopping either of those things with a printout of a quote.
