Draymond Green All But Admits To Stalking Kevin Durant While Recruiting Him To The Warriors

Draymond Green recently sat down with Conan O’Brien to talk about the work he put in to get former Oklahoma City Thunder counterpart Kevin Durant to sign with his Golden State Warriors.

“I recruited KD really hard,” said Green. “It was sort of like the equivalent of a college coach trying to get a top-five recruit — although I would have broken every NCAA rule there was.”

With Durant now a member of the Warriors, it appears that Green’s efforts didn’t hurt Golden State’s shot at landing Durant, but what Green said next has to make you wonder how Durant was feeling during the recruiting process.

“I called him a million times. I called him a million and one times, and I tried to show up wherever he was whatever chance I got,” said Green with a smile on his face.

While Green was a shade away from stalking Durant before he signed in Oakland, it seems as if there’s no lingering weirdness between Green and Durant, each of whom won Olympic gold in Brazil with Team USA in August.

With Durant now in Golden State, the Warriors will look to reclaim the NBA Finals from the Cleveland Cavaliers after failing to defend their title despite leading 3-1 in the series.
