The Reactions To This High Schooler’s Massive Poster Dunk Are More Entertaining Than The Jam Itself

This dunk by high school sophomore E.J. Montgomery is absolutely filthy.

The Class of 2018 star sizes up his defender almost immediately after grabbing a loose ball off the opening tip, preparing his steps for a poster. Ambitions of of his helpless foe only increase the drama of this jam; Montgomery was forced to use every inch of his burgeoning 6’9 frame to rock the rim.

It’s early yet, but this is undoubtedly a contender for best dunk on the prep level in 2015-16.

But the lack of more than one angle, unfortunately, robs us of the ability to gauge Montgomery’s effort with utmost accuracy. Is this a slam for the ages, or simply the first of what will be a long list of high-flying finishes by the Montverde Academy product this season? The reaction of the crowd certainly suggests the former possibility.

Our favorite response, obviously, comes from the youngster who felt the need to faint following Montgomery’s aerial theatrics. And not only did he feign losing consciousness once, but twice – and didn’t even have his teammates to break his fall on the first occasion! Talk about commitment.

ESPN ranks Montgomery as the third-best sophomore in the nation. Needless to say, he’ll be providing the basketball world with a fair share of highlights like this one for many years running.
