Justise Winslow Starts His NBA Career By Posterizing Most Of The Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets could have picked Justise Winslow with the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s draft. When it was apparent they weren’t going to, they could have cashed in on his potential and accepted several juicy trade offers for their spot in the draft. Charlotte passed, not only on the trade packages, but on Winslow as well. From the looks of it, he didn’t take the perceived snub lightly.

The Miami Heat jumped at the chance to pick the former Duke guard and he’s already paying dividends. After hitting a three-pointer for his first career NBA bucket, Justise ripped through Jeremy Lin’s lackadaisical defense, drove baseline and threw down a huge tomahawk dunk on the heads of Charlotte bigs Cody Zeller and Al Jefferson.

Winslow had 5 points (2/2) and four rebounds in 15 first-half minutes. As for Frank Kaminsky, the man the Hornets chose in lieu of Winslow, he finished the half 0-2 and has yet to register a point in a little over six minutes of action.
