Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell were taken first and second overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. Towns had a great season, and was a deserving Rookie of the Year winner. Russell had a good season, too, although he is probably best known for a little video of Nick Young that got out. Now, the young ‘Wolves and Lakers stars have joined together with Draft Kings to name the top-five rappers in the game today.

The two take the topic quite seriously, actually. Towns feels particularly stringent when it comes to what “currently” means. He doesn’t put Kanye in his top five because he doesn’t feel like The Life of Pablo should count. These two youngsters also do not seem too high on Jay Z and Lil Wayne, either (The No. 5 pick in this year’s draft, Kris Dunn, is a big time Lil Wayne fan, but only the older stuff). They both shout out Logic, though, who isn’t even one of the choices.

In the end, the top five, in alphabetical order, are Chance the Rapper, Drake, Future, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. If you want to know how the top five shake out, you can watch the video. One can only assume next year that Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram will be doing something similar. Perhaps they will have more love for Kanye than Towns did. Don’t get mad at Russell though, Kanye fans. If he had his way, he would have been in the top five.
