Since Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors, no Thunder player has been more publicly (and jokingly) mad about it than Enes Kanter. He made a “traitor” joke to Steven Adams when he shaved off his mustache, and has offered suggestions for repurposing Durant jerseys and even rebranding the “KD’s” restaurant in Oklahoma City.
Kanter kept the routine up on Tuesday when Anthony Slater, the Thunder beat writer for The Oklahoman, announced that he was following Durant to the Bay Area and taking a new gig covering the Warriors for the San Jose Mercury News.
Personal news: I'm leaving The Oklahoman to cover the Warriors for the San Jose Mercury News/Bay Area News Group https://t.co/Hn7EvdvBAL

Kanter did not take kindly to yet another defection from the Thunder to the Warriors, posting a Photoshop of Durant’s Players Tribune announcement with Slater’s head over Durant’s, and warning him that he’d be burning copies of The Oklahoman.
Wow!! Another traitor 😂😂
I m burning your news 😁
Haha Good luck bro !!!
Will miss you (Maybe) 🤔@anthonyVslater 🙏 pic.twitter.com/VJkzyw4aIE— Enes FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) August 3, 2016
It’s a great bit, and it’s good that Kanter has a sense of humor about the entire situation with Durant leaving. It’s not going to stop, either. The first time the Thunder play the Warriors next season, it might be worthwhile for fans to turn on mobile notifications for Kanter’s tweets so as not to miss the jokes he’ll potentially be making at his former teammate’s expense.
