LeBron James Went Full Fanboy Over Dirk Nowitzki Scoring 30,000 Career Points

Tuesday evening was quite kind to Dirk Nowitzki. The legendary Dallas Mavericks power forward achieved a milestone as only the sixth player in NBA history to score 30,000 points and, from there, the internet gathered together to praise Nowitzki’s accomplishment in unison. That wasn’t the end, though, as the best (and most famous) player in the NBA, LeBron James, quickly joined the party in praise of his contemporary.

It is quite clear that James is a big fan of Nowitzki’s work, to the point where his voice inflection matches the excitement level of any die-hard fan of the NBA. It has to be noted that LeBron is operating in front of what can only be described as a massive television screen (as he breaks from dinner with his family) but that did not temper down his general level of intensity.

James also references Nowitzki’s insane level of efficiency during the game in which he reached the 30,000-point plateau. The veteran forward scored 25 (!) points prior to halftime on just 12 field goal attempts and, for good measure, Nowitzki knocked down all three of his attempts from long distance. Still, even if he had taken a more difficult in-game path to the coveted mark, Nowitzki would be worthy praise and James signed off by indicating a desire to join his counterpart in the exclusive club. Something tells me that just might happen.
