Paul George Ripped Into The ‘Sh*tty’ Officiating After Getting Ejected In Philly

Paul George got tossed in the fourth quarter of the Pacers 120-111 win over the Sixers on Monday night after an altercation with Gerald Henderson. The two received double technicals after both ended up on the ground battling for position, and then the final technical came when George went after Henderson following a flagrant foul as Henderson elbowed George in the throat on a drive.

After the game, George didn’t hold back in his criticism of the officiating in a profanity laced rant. George was mostly upset because, as he tells it, he constantly told the officials that Henderson was jabbing him with elbows and shots to the stomach throughout the game and the refs wouldn’t do anything about it. So, when he finally had enough, he let Henderson know about it and ended up getting tossed all the same, despite not being the aggressor.

“I mean, y’all know how I feel about the officials, and tonight I really have no faith in ‘em,” George said. “I’ve been warning ‘em all night what he’s going to do, stuff he’s doing, and they allowed this sh*t to go on. He was throwing jabs, throwing punches at my stomach all night, and I didn’t retaliate until late in the game when they weren’t doing sh*t about it. So he pulled me down, I get a double tech for doing nothing. And then throw an elbow at my neck, I get another tech for nothing. So I really don’t have no respect, nothing is there for the officiating. Sh*tty officiating job.”

George also said this is a regular issue with Henderson when he’s playing at home, noting that Henderson is far more aggressive in getting physical when he’s in Philly compared to on the road.

“For whatever reason, he doesn’t like getting scored on by me,” George said. “I get this every time he’s at home. I guess that’s when he feels confident. He’s sweet on the road, but at home is when he gets some nuts.”

George hopes the NBA rescinds both of his technicals, as he feels both were undeserved, while Henderson insisted after the game that his elbow was unintentional.

Whether his technicals are rescinded or not, George can almost assuredly expect a fine after calling out the officiating — which the NBA is never fond of.
