Steph Curry is pretty beloved nationwide, by and large. Sure, he’s a great player on a great team, an enviable combination that will always draw haters, but overall people like him. His style of play is a lot of fun to watch, he seems like a nice enough guy, and because he’s only somewhat tall instead of freakishly tall he’s considered more of an “everyman” than his superstar luminaries. But now, Curry has let the world know who he’s voting for in the upcoming presidential election, which always has a chance to rub people the wrong way.

Curry was a guest speaker at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, a very Silicon Valley and Silicon Valley type of event. He was asked some either/or questions during his time on stage, and subsequently informed attendees that he prefers Magic Johnson to Larry Bird and the San Francisco Giants to the Oakland A’s. He was also asked his preference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and answered in the most vanilla way possible.

“Hillary,” he said, by way of the The Mercury News’ Anthony Slater.

So yes, Steph Curry is going to vote for Hillary Clinton. That’ll get a few people angry, because that’s how politics works. However, it’s not likely to really ruffle many feathers within the world of the NBA, or even among NBA fans. After all, it’s hard to imagine there’s a big overlap between Trump supporters and NBA fans.
